Although the January sales may be coming to a close, Volkswagen is pleased to be able to give its customers excellent value for money with its latest February offers.

Leading the line-up is the Passat Trendline, a special edition model launched in August last year and based on the entry-level Passat S. Already offered at a highly competitive price considering its extra specification over the S, the Trendline is now reduced by a further £1,000 to give a starting price of £13,995 (RRP on the road) for the 2.0-litre 130 PS saloon*.

All Passat saloon and estate Trendline models come with 15" ‘Wellington’ alloy wheels, a leather-trimmed multifunction steering wheel, and cruise control over and above the already comprehensive standard equipment list of the S model. This includes Climatronic electronic climate control; ESP (Electronic Stabilisation Programme) with ABS; CD player; twin front and side airbags plus curtain airbag system; four electric windows and electric mirrors; and remote central locking with alarm. The Trendline’s extra items of specification represent £935 of additional customer value over the S; yet with the special offers starting from today, the Trendline actually costs £1,160 less than its equivalent S model.

Value for money on a number of other Volkswagen models has also been enhanced until the end of March. The Polo E, for example, currently has a starting price of £6,995 (RRP on the road)**. Standard equipment includes four airbags (including front seat side impact airbags) and central locking. The Twist from £8,595** is also fantastic value, with key items of equipment fitted as standard over the E model including alloy wheels, metallic or pearl effect paint, air conditioning, electric front windows and a split/folding rear seat.

Moving up the range, the Golf S continues to benefit from free air conditioning; while the Bora Highline provides great value from £15,580**, with attractive items of equipment fitted as standard compared with the SE on which it is based, at little or no cost. These include leather upholstery, heated front seats, parking sensor and distinctive alloy wheels. Further up the range, the Touran’s popularity continues to be boosted by the offer of seven seats for the price of five.
