Where did you buy the cable and which version are you trying to use?

704.1 won't work with a unapproved by Ross Tech cable as far as I know. I don't think you can go past 409. Incidentally, as of today VAG-COM is now called VCDS which is 803.0.

I have a working copy and cable if you need - based in Coventry.

Having just looked at The Ross-Tech website 803.0 is still a Beta version.

Do you know what is meant by a Beta version. It means that's it's still in the test phase and should not be used live because the supplier cannot guarantee it will work correctly. There is the possibility it could screw-up the coding of a module.

OK to use if your know exactly what your doing, but I personally would not yet recommend it for use by a new or inexperienced user which is why I pointed out it's still a Beta version. I was a software tester before I retired last year and know some of the problems Beta software can cause.

OK, I don’t mean to offend :D

My wife is a software engineer and so I know the issues even full release software can cause. Windows Vista was perfect when launched wasn’t it! :biglaugh:

If it wasn’t for people like me testing it, they wouldn’t find the bugs. Personally I think it would be impossible to corrupt module coding using the Beta version.
