Hi, I own a vw shoran TDI 1999, the heater's fan stops working after 10 seconds and when I switch it off for 5 minutes and switch it back on it works for another 10 seconds:confused: before gradually slows down till it stops, it happens even when I put it on aircon, any help appreciated.
thanks,
Ben:confused:

Thank you Marc97 you are right it is the motor brashes, they are so easy to change but no dealer sell them, they tell me I have to buy the whole unit, how stupid is that.
I have tried to get a used one but no joy so far.
any further help will be appreciated.
Thanks
Ben

Few years ago B&Q used to sell verry cheap drills with a spare set of replaceable brushes and they could be adapted to fit the vag blowers. You should try a electrical repair shop(alternator and starters shop) and they may be of help. Failing that, scouring trough breakes yards may prove successfull. Regards.

Had the heater motor problem on my 98 Passat - stripped the motor down and a friend ordered brushes from RS catalogue. Turns out they were wrong :zx11: and for the money I wasn't willing to butcher them to fit. Anyway, managed to find a brand new replancement on ebay for £70 - suggest you look here too.

Thanks Gavin78, I did try ebay but no luck, I ordered a second hand for £65, but you had a much better deal £70 for brand new one
Thank you,
Ben
