Hello all.
I've got a year 2000 Ibiza 1.9sdi which has a noisy alternator freewheel clutch mechanism. I know I have to release the aux belt tensioner and I'm sure that is done by the nut in the centre by turning it clockwise to allow the belt to be removed. It appears though, that the alternator fixing bolts are behind the tension block which looks like it's bolted to the engine block. Is it just a case of undoing the bolts and removing it allowing me to get to the alt fixings or is it more involved. Finally after refitting the aux belt does the tensioner take up the slack automatically.
Phew! Hope that is not as difficult as it sounds...

All done and dusted. Quite an easy job, the only diddficult bit was trying to hold the tensioner and replace the aux belt, three hands needed in the space for two.
Thanks for your help.
