99 bug diesel temp sensor replacement

I have a 1999 turbo diesel bug that started acting as if it had a plugged fuel filter, cutting out when needing more fuelat higher speeds and climing hills. I changed the filter and it made no change. I took it to a shop and they put the computer on it and said the fuel temp sensor is short to ground. The mecanic printed an instruction sheet with diagrams and said he couldnt get to it for a couple weeks. He then told me it was easy but I just dont have the time to change it myself. I took it to a different shop in my town and he is telling me that the entire fuel pump needs to be replaced, I allready know better. I cant take it back to the other shop due to it being in another city. In the mean time I lost the instruction sheet.

My question is, does anyone have a web site that may show how to change this sensor?
