vw golf fan

can anyone please explain why the fan comes on as soon as i take the key out.i can go out and start it and turn it off then the fan cuts in and the engine is nowhere near warm.the fan seems to remain on for at least 10mins???any reply would be very helpful:aargh4:

I honestly can say that neither of my two golfs do this. And nor did my dad's Jettas when he had them. However, I'm afraid I can't help you, as I really don't know.

Engine and year would help.
