Front suspension help+service light?

There is a thuding noise coming from the driver front wheel area at certain times,usually when i reverse over a small bump from my street, the car seems to be fine when i drive on flat surfaces etc, this may have been caused by me driving over a speed bump too quickly, also the service light in my dash cant be reset manually as some num nuts pushed one of the dial buttons in so hard it wont move,any suggestions on both will be gratefully welcomed?
