Hi,
New to VW, new to forum, hopefully this is in correct place.
I am thinking of buying a particular Passat here in Ireland. It is a 2005, 1.9TDI 105 S, "New Model".
The only thing I will miss from my previous car is a centre console...ie arm rest + compartment.
So my question is does anyone know what would be the model of console I would need or are available and is it EASY to install.....Anyone done it before ??
Cheers

This isn't helping, but I thought the centre console was standard across the range?

Have you got a photo of the "gap"?

I know what you mean.

Can be ordered from new for about £150.
Not a normal dealer fit option. I was quoted £450, the whole area up to & beyond the gear lever has to be removed, too much to justify but I do miss the arm rest.

You maybe able to source one, the thread below will give you idea on the work involved.

If you are succesful, please can you do mine:aargh4:

Its not perfect but the legs fit in the CD holder. A couple of self-tappers hold it in place. I could not afford the £600 I was quoted by a dealer.

Hi needtogetfit and welcome.

In Ireland you have Baseline, Comfortline, Highline and so on...... Comfortline on gives your the arm rest.

Its small. Its about 2cm narrower than the centre console, hence its legs fit perfectly into the console CD bin. It is very stable, even without being screw fixed to the console. I have around 6 or 7 CD's in it so that adds a little weight to make it more stable. The only problem is that when I try to open the top lid, the whole arm rest lifts up, however, screw fixing it would prevent this.

Also because its made of plastic it will flex a little, for example, if you lean across to pick something off the passenger seat, but then it only costs £19! It does not flex when you rest your arm on it when driving, however.

It does make a great arm rest and storage space.

Surprisingly the fake carbon fible and pvc matches the interior of the S very well.

Can you adjust the angle or height?
Would app a picture Andrew before I commit.

The legs have 5 holes for height adjustment, giving about 50mm vertical movement. If screw fixed to the console you could raise it.

I'll try to upload a photo this evening.

Cheers Andrew thanks for pics. Looks good. Could do one more favour? Any chance of a pic with arm rest up/open so we can see how much space there is to hold stuff. Thanks
