Hello! I am new to this board but I am looking for a little bit of assistance!

I have just bought a VW LT40TD recovery truck, and have a few little problems with it......

1) Last night, on the way back from Southampton the rear probshaft UJ decided to break up. I managed to get it back to work, but the vibration from it was dreadful; any ideas how to change this? It looks as if it is crimped into the housing, rather than the usual circlips.

2) Whenever the engine is running (cold or hot) there is some smoke from the exhaust. It smells like it's burning oil and it is blue smoke. When driving and the Turbo kicks in, you can see clouds of blue smoke coming from the exhaust. It also uses 2litres of oil in 150miles! My guess is that the turbo bearings have gone........but before I replace the turbp does anybody else have any ideas?

Also, what is it like to change the Turbo?

Many many thanks!

Regards,
Sam.
