Starting problem on 1800 petrol 1996 Passat estate

The petrol pump appears to be working as we have petrol through to the injector rail (not sure what pressure?) Does anyone know how the imobiliser might affect starting problems as the door handle on drivers side and associated electrics have become detached - would this effect the imolibliser and possible starting issues?

I know this is an old post...The DCMs(Door control modules) are part of the immobilizer system and yes, they can cause a no-start condition.

Am sure you must have had this sorted by now
