Hi all,

im a new member thought id introduce myself

just bought myself a audi a4 2.5 tdi multitronic, swapped my toledo 2.3

never had a deisel or an auto before so i'm sure ill need lots of help!

How are you finding the multitronic?

its amazing very smooth and quite quick
however so far - maybe my driving - but fuel economy doesnt seen very good getting less for my money then from my 2.3 seat toledo!! due a major service at the end of next month so may change things.

but safe to say its not bad enough for me to think about changing it!!

Has it had the 40k oil change on the gearbox yet?

car is on a 53 with 80k on clock all services have been done to the manufacturers spec,
it was a hsbc car so there is also a print out confirming every bulb and tyre that has been changed. if the gearbox oil needs to be changed every 40k miles ill have to make sure its done when it goes in next month - will this make a difference?

I'm no expert - but if you do a forum search you'll read about some of the multitronic problems. The key part of preventing such problems is having the gearbox fluid done every 40k, does the service history have anything listed at 40k?

As hagis suggests, get it done. It's better to spend a little now than have a £1,500 bill in the future.

checked the history and its been ticked to say all the 40 k service work done and the print out is marked out aft on two services.

this is getting done towards the end of this month - has to be closer to pay day!! but im concerned at the fuel consumption at the min doing 29 i wasnt expecting the car to be super econonical but i was expecting it to be better then my 2.3 v5 which was a petrol!!

welcome ....... i'm not a fan of the 2.5 there num and drink like theres no tomorow i do like the 1.9 not num and good though the box i've been very impressed with every one that i've drove :D
