good morning all,
just joined as proud owner of quattro coupe 1989 2.2 5 cylinder 10 valve.
Drove car home some 200 miles and all ok good oil pressure ect,but next day on starting her up there was a noticable rattle coming from the bottom rear of engine i think,thought it might be a belt or something but seems to be at opposite end of engine.Mechanic friend fears the worst on listening to it and thinks in might be a con rod.Could anyone offer any advice as to how to check and fix, and how much should i expect to pay,or should i just get a recon engine fitted ect ect. i am located in Harwich essex which is near Colchester / Clacton on sea does anyone know where i could go on this one in my area.
appreciate any help or advice on this as i do want to keep her on the road,and have completed a shed load of work already.
