Hi all First time so please give me some slack if I do it wrong. 2001 1.8 turbo GTI AGU engine code has no fault codes but has a misfire on cyl #1. New plugs didn't fix the problem. If I change coil packs around #1 still misfires. Please help. Cheers.

how have you diagnosed that it is cylinder 1 that is misfiring with no DTCs? have you checked for splits in sheathing causing shorts between the wiring running to the coil pack and the engine block?

Old fashioned way, remove coil pack and put in a plug and earth the plug on the engine and start the engine. No spark arrives at the plug. Cyl 2,3 & 4 have spark if I do the same to them. If I swap coil packs around still no spark at cyl 1 but2 3 & 4 have spark.

i have found that split breather pipes give the same problems listed..
if that fails try getting the trottle body cleaned.
all the above are a hell of a lot cheaper than a coil pack & HT leads.
hope it helps.

i would check the electrical contacts on the injector and the injector itself
