T4 2,4d 2000; airlock in fuel line, etc?

How does one bleed the fuel system if there is an airlock. Diesel filter less than 1 yr old. There is no smell of diesel from exhausts when I try to start up. I've noticed air bubbles in a clear tube returning from the injection pump to the diesel filter. Could this be the cause. I've also been told that there is some electric shut off switch on the pump. Any ideas?

what i did was undo fuel line at injector ,,,each 1 with engine running
see it spitting out, the tighten worked for me

will be glad to hear how other people do it

Willy, You advice made sense to me, but my problem was,and is that the van doesn't start at all. VW Norway told me that all five injectors have to be undone, the engine turned over, and when diesel starts to arrive, each injector reconnected in turn. Your on the right track though, the injectors are the only way to bleed the system. Thanks!
