Audi A6 2005 20TDI Control Emission System light on

Control emission system light came on.I took my car to diagnose.They told me 16567 Unknown code .I reckon they had not got the orginal VAG programme to read it .I checked on internet and the fault number 16567 means Fuel temperature sender-G81 Interruption/Short to B+.What should I do now. I do not want to pay for another diagnose 70£. I have a warranty with AA.
Do you think it is serious and what it can cause. How this sender works?

Hi A faulty g81 will give you a higher emission levels,i should not imagine a new sensor would cost as much as a diagnose
