Any ideas?

It drives ok, both drive belts are fine. Oil level is ok and all electrics appear to work fine.
The only problem is that the oil light blinks, the rev counter is stuck at zero and the battery light is dim and flickering.

We need the car tomorrow to take a driving test! They won't let us do it with any dash warning lights. Rats!

Please help
Matt

Ref to your problem with oil light blinking and rev counter at zero.

Have just had the same problem on my sons golf 1.9 se.

Cured it by giving the alternator a good clout with an 18mm spanner.

Suspect it may be a rectifier or something in the alternator sticking.

Hope this is of help to you.
