Hi. This is my first post so please excuse if im not doing this right.

I have a seat Leon TDi 150 Cupra that doesnt start straight up in the morning or after all day of standing.
As soon as its struck up the first time then it fires straight away all day unless you leave it quite a few hours.

I have had a temp sensor change and glow plugs checked.

Anybody help me with this?

Thanks

Rob

Tandem pump leaking/drawing air into the fuel system! It can be the seal (replacement pump needed) or maybe the bolts have come a little loose (and they do) or the gasket. Check it to see if there are any wet bits around it.

Sorry,

I Have also changed the t peice on the top of the fuel filter.

Its obviously drawing in air from somewhere

From the tandem pump thats bolted to the rear of the cylinder head.

Try changing the gasket, If still the same it's a new pump time.

It could be something else of course, but the tandem is the main culprit for drawing air into the fuel system.

Hi, Just another update

Changed the tandem fuel pump and still no joy. Any other idea's?

Could it be a crank sensor?

Just keep throwing money away.

Hi Adam,

Yeah got the car back a couple of days ago. The Changed the Injector seals and its all running fine.

They did say it would either be a tandem fuel pump or those.

Worth taking it to VW for them to have a look. But its not cheap.

Ideal. Good here all running ok. I've only had my golf for 2 weeks but come from a second hand dealer! I am a mechanic but i'm no good on these new diesel engines. I've got warrenty on this car but trying to tell the garage what to check and replace, i give up! Cheers for getting back to me.
