A4 Rear Bulb- bolt doesn't come out??

I've read guidance on how to replace the rear light bulb. The grommet swings out, and I turn the bolt but though it continues to turn, it does not project out any further. Isn't the bolt supposed to come out completely?:confused:

once you've unscrewed bolt, grab bolt with thin -nosed pliers to remove it

If you are having difficulty getting the bolt to come out, remember that a hexagonal socket does the job too. Not too visible at first but the outer edge is in fact hex, 8 or 9mm I think.

Thank you both, JR001 and jak. I was able to pull the bolt out with long nose pliers. And, I see that it will be easier next time with the socket wrench.
