Two nice looking cars there my friend, used to be a big, big fan of the blue oval myself, owned a 1991 XR2i 8v for 16 years, used to keep it like new, had a fair share of other Fords too over the years, managed to clock up 296,000 on the XR2i, and believe it ir not i never touched the rear shoes in 16 years!!!
Cracking motor that was, wish i never sold it now:(

Thanks for the comments guys, sdk 778 we had a fezzer on our drive the rs1800 it belonged to my daughter~right classic car that was, bullet proof, well to add to this story I went out to the rs2k mk6 tonight pulled the £150 cover off it,5 months since I fired her last~she started first time no problem, well chuffed here~so all I need now is to take the cat bypass off for the test and she`s ready for 2008.

I had a similar experience with the XR2i, left it in a friends barn in Tewkesbury for 18 months when i decided to do some bodywork repairs, after all that time she fired up and ran A1 on the first turn! Took it from there to a bodyshop round the corner to let them fit a new 1/4 panel etc.., was there for another year and still started!;)

When we decided to sell it had been parked up in my in-laws garage for 2 years, took it out on a trailor took it to be tested in Stroud, trailored it back home, washed it, polished it and a guy drove it up to Glasgow the next day and she purred up with the only issue being a breather pipe falling off! try doing that with an Audi!!!
Bring on the oval!!!:biglaugh:

Well weathers looking good for this weekend,so I think its time to lift the covers, get the cats back on for an MOT`s,then polish the crap out of them for 2008,
See me on track @ Castle Combe 2008 in the mk6 we are only pushing 175bhp in her so do overtake me lol.
