Hello nice helpful people.

I have a 2000(X) Sharan SE TDi. It's coming up to MOT time and I've noticed that the number plate light isn't working. It's not the bulb, no Volts are getting to the bulb socket.

I tried to find the fuse, but pulling fuse #28 as per the fuse map has no effect on anything, i.e. it should take out the interior lights and the "headlamp range" as well as the number plate light. I pulled all the 3A and 5A fuses I could see, but nothing took out the interior lights. Maybe they're powered by kryptonite.

Q1: Where's the fuse? Is there a different fuse map or fuse box that I should know about?

Q2: The rubber-sheathed wire bundle from the body into the tailgate on the left hand side makes a suspicously graunchy noise when I wiggle it. Does the number plate light wire go through this bundle?

Thanks in advance.

if the other one is working just run a wire from the other one bodge but it will work, my 12v sockets in the boot failed and I could never find the other one so I just ran another wire.
