air conditioning fault

as the title suggests the air cons busted on my 2000 115 gt tdi. ive had the system regassed and also had someone look at the wiring to the compressor.he said the clutch isnt engaging but when he connects it direct to 12v supply it works fine.he then suggested it could be the fan control module as this also switches the supply to the compressor clutch so i changed that today and it still doesnt work.:aargh4: :1zhelp: incidentally its the basic air con not climatronic

I too have the same problem, have replaced the fan control module as well.
reading the threats below looks like it could be one of two sensors.
Either the high pressure sensor (thrust sensor) or IJ0 959 126 or the ambient air sensor (by the pollen filter).
If I ever get a chance I will check these and see what happens.
