Just spent a day tinkering with my new toy. Now have a couple of questions, please:

One of the bulbs has gone behind the rev counter. Not critical, but well, annoying. Does the binnacle come out farly easily, or or you have to be an octopus?

car has some aftermarket TSR alloys on, which I dont really like. What other Audi wheels will fit straight on to the cars PCD and offset (eg A3,4,6 wheels)?

Thanks!

Jim

Hi

I'm not familiar with the cab, but guess the setup is the same as for a coupe? To remove the instruments, You need to remove the Steering column shroud (3 screws from underside), When the upper half is removed, the instrument cluster securing screws can be seen at the bottom. Remove these, then pull the bottom of the cluster out first, then as it gets partway out, flip the top forward.
This is easier if the steering wheel is removed first, but is usually possible without doing so.

The stud pattern is 4 x 108, which is not compatible with the other cars which are 5 stud. If you really wanted to, S2 model 5 x 112 front hubs could be fitted, and Audi 100/A6 rears. This also involves new discs and wheel bearings so not cheap!

You can get 4 stud replicas of eg RS4 alloys:

Anyone got any idea how much it would cost to convert the hubs to 5 stud all in? I got a V6 cab.

ballpark figures? s2 front hubs £80 each
s2/v6 front wheel bearings £50 each
s2 front discs £30-40?? each, no real idea, I've never priced these!

100/A6 rear hubs £40-50?? each
rear wheel bearing kits £15 each
s2 Rear discs £30 ?? each

Best to ring Vagparts for prices to be honest should be cheaper than the dealer.

Labour £ 150? probably more!!

The s2/V6/20v all have the 82mm wheel bearing, the lesser models usually have a 75mm bearing, I think a 1.8 cab would need the wheel bearing housings fron a S2/V6/20v to do the fronts?
