Dianostic Check On A4

Hi,having problems with my y plate a4-irratic reving when started and occassionally loss of power i put the car on a diagnostic test today thinking that it would show the maf as faulty,but no,it showed the engine temp sensor as faulty.Would this cause these kind of problems?thanks for any advice.

Hi mate,if the temp sender in your car is duff then the ecu will(obviously) be unaware of the engines temp, not knowing the state of the engine it wil send use all differnt types of fueling maps untll it finds one were the engine is running right.A new sensor should be a DIY fit and not cost too much either.:D
