Hello,

Does anyone know of a good VW independent garage in the Sheffield/Chesterfield areas for servicing and repairs?

I currently have two VWs (Polo and Passat) that could do with some help, especially the Polo which doesn't sound too good at the moment.

Any help would be appreciated thanks!

Try Volks-Tek in Dronfield (www.volks-tek.co.uk (http://www.volks-tek.co.uk)). They are half way between Sheffield and Chesterfield. Ive had a fog light replaced and found them to be straightforward. Middle of a trading estate though so may have to arrange for someone to pick you up and drop you off again.

Volks Tec are very good, or try Audi Dave over at Clowne. Just over junction 30 of the M1.

I am at a bit of a sticking point with regards to servicing. My girlfriend is adament that the service must be done at a VW garage at vast expense but in reality how much better are they than the indepentent garages? People have posted a couple of garage websites but can anyone clarify the quality of work that is undertaken at any of the garages? Also is it possible for an indepentent garage to reset the diagnostics?

theres JBS Auto Design in chesterfield, I have used then and they were very quick and no problems what so ever over a 50K service. I'll never use a dealer as they just follow that head office wants them to sell. I.E. the long life service rubbish which i've heard does more damage than good.
