Can anyone advise please?

My service schedule says the cam-belt should be replaced at 60k miles but my VW dealer (Colbournes) says it should have been replaced at 4yrs i.e last November). The car is 5yrs old and has done 30k

Cambelt replacement 60k or 5 years wichever came first ! Its wise to replace earlier especially if car had lots of short journeys... Vw had a lot of complaints due to the cambelt stretch and failure due to the fact that the techs could not spot it before it failed... as Vw recomends to inspect and replace if neccessary at every service ! Its known that 70% of cambelt failures happens soon after replacement due to impropper fitting or misuse...
