Broken engine oil dipstick

On my 1999 A4 1.8 the dipstick does not seem to lock/click into its housing and on closer inspection I noticed that the plastic was very brittle and had broken away at the edges both on the dipstick and the housing.

Seems relatively easy to replace but does anyone know how much a new dipstick and housing/shroud will cost?

had to do the same with mine, how insignificant i felt walking into the main dealer, sitting at a parts desk next to a spanking £80,000 r8 and purchasing a new dipstick guide tube for 98p

plus the obligatory vat of course.

as for the dipstick itself it can't be that much more.
