Hello,
I own a 1999 A4 2.8 V6 Quattro. I absolutely LOVE the car, the only thing i dislike is the fuel costs.
Soo, I went out and brought a 1999 A4 2.5 V6 Tdi today and drove it 400 miles home. I loved the 6th gear and it seemed to sip fuel. Thats about all i loved when compared to my beloved v6 petrol equivelant though.
The plan was to get the Tdi home and put its thirstier, bigger brother on ebay. They are both sat on the drive at the moment, but when i think about selling the 2.8 Quattro it makes me really sad. I take a look at it dressed in its superiorly specced outfit, complete with cream buffalo heated leather seats to warm my bum on icy cold mornings and i don't think i can bring myself to sell it.
Both cars are mechanically perfect but i just love the way the 2.8 Quattro makes me feel when i am driving it. The Tdi makes me feel mature beyond my years (22) where as the 2.8 Quattro never fails to put a smile on my face, but does put a dent in my wallet.
Help?
Here is the 2.8 V6 Quattro, taken the other day;
