i have a mk2 golf 1988 1.3 and would like to fit an induction kit to give the engine that bit more bite and noise, can anyone give me any info on how i can do this, i mean is there another carb needed , or an adapter, i have the standard pierburg carb and standard round filter pan any advice would be great

An filter like that will just cause carburettor icing which will stop the car as it removes the inlet air pre heat system critical in preventing the fuel freezing inside the carburettor as temperatures drop. At warmer times of the year it will draw in hot air which reduces the density of the air going into the engine and that means the air will contain less oxygen and so you will get a smaller bang inside the cylinder, i.e. less power. Stick to the original air filter and fit a K&N direct replacement element but this will not make any more noise.
