I have recently bought a 55 plate 2006 2.0tdi Elegance that has done 95,000 mainly motorway miles, and I'm very pleased with it performance and fuel consumption but have found that the clutch starts to bite very low down and some times I have trouble engaging reverse gear.
Every now and again the clutch starts dragging when stood in traffic and it then becomes difficult to to get it out of gear. It helps a little if I pump the clutch pedal before trying to put it in gear when this problem occurs.
Does this sound like it needs a new clutch or could it be a problem with the master or slave cylinder, as I understand it the clutch should be good for 200,000 miles.
