i'm wondering where can i buy a CAM for my 2.2L KV 5 cylinder?i know PIPER cams do one, but i was wondering if i could buy one from any other company's? At maybe a cheaper price?
anyone know of a UK/European or US/Canada company selling CAMS for the 2.2 KV?

Also interested in head work, i remember there was once a post on another forum with a company advertising a gas flowed big valve head for a 5 cylinder, complete with CAM.
but i can't find it any more http://www.vwvortex.com/vwbb/frown.gif. i think the company's name began with 'B' ?? lol

if not, how much would i pay for just a port and polish?

EDIT: i drive a 1987 audi coupe quattro. 5 cylinder 2.2L 10valve non turbo. it has the KV engine.

Blau cams seem fairly popular on the US forums. I'm fairly sure eurospec offer cams for the 10 and 20v 5 cylinder.
034efi could probably do something for you, not sure how the pricing would be?
Crasher (on here) also offers these services

I only use a mild Schrick cam (such as the 0064 01 721-02) on the KU/KV. I tried the Piper and Kent profiles on a 2.3 KU that I built for our 100 Avant and I didn't like them so all the customer 2.3's and 2.5's I build always get the Schrick. On the head, I do a double big valve conversion with 40-mm inlet (over 38-mm) and 35-mm exhaust (over 33-mm) and that makes an incredible difference. Building a 2.3 is really easy if you have the engine out, it is just a 2-mm oversize re-bore and gives you 2337cc. 2.5 is quite easy as well but costs more due to the expensive crank.

For the double big valve head and valves built up ready for cam and lifters you are looking at just under a grand.

could that head then be fitted to a turbo engine?

how much just for the 2.5 conversion?

That conversion could be applied to a turbo head casting. I can't remember the price for a 2.5 short block but I think it is in the £4000 area. I have got to build one in the next few weeks.

Engine and loom with ECU.
How handy are you with a spanner? You could do it in a week.
I have a friend who has done this into a 7A 20v coupe quattro.

yea.. but how strait forward is it fitting a 20v Turbo in to a car that use to have a 10v?

i like the idea of 20vT power but would my transmission handle it?
wouldn't a 10v Turbo bolt strait in with a lot less fuss?

And how much would i pay for a 5cyl 10vTurbo? (200bhp spec) and where would i find one?

cheers.. :)

(ps) what about things like the rad? can i leave the standard one in place? or will it need the doner car's rad?

The complete setup is up for sale on the S2forum
AZMAN is selling it including the crossmember and intercooler
£900
You have to be registered to view for sale items.
He fitted that into his car which I think was a twenty valve previously.
Your gearbox / drivetrain will laugh at it, if they are in good order.
Your brakes won't like it.
Your radiator will be fine. The S2 comes with an aux rad. Quite a few people have removed them and don't have any ill affects.
