You will need new tyres ! They are waaay to big for a b5.

You probably need 235 x 30 or so to be sure,Where it will foul depends on the offset of the rims

Ive Got 225/45/17 Tyres Fitted Atm And Theres Lots Of Room, 30 Profile Sounds A Bit Harsh!
Btw The Part No For My New Rims Is 4eo 601 025n . Is There A Way Of Getting Specs On Them ?

just a quick update. bolted said wheels to car, well tried to. fitted 10mm spacers to fronts, they bolt on but wont turn, fouling on top of hub below where top arms bolt and track rod end fouls at certain steering angles. so more spacing needed . only problen is they stick out of arches about 20mm now!
rears had to fit a 5mm spacer to clear the strut but fit fine and look awsome!
but close to arch now , dont know if they will be ok when i lower the car though.

235/35 R 19 would be the best bet, whats the offset and width of the alloys?

You'll need to keep the spacers, 235/35 tyres. Prob wont be much tyre/rim protection, so dont forget to park 3 feet from the kerb (and push your wing mirrors in!!)

im stuffed if im running 35 profile tyres , do you guys know if there are any arch mods available? in my dreams someone is giong to tell me that s4/rs4 wings are wider , will bolt straight on and and all i will need is spacers:biglaugh:.

what is the widest possible wheel tyre combination you can fit ti a b5?
the 255 width is the thing is what i like the best about the alloys i bought.

If you are planning on lowering, and want to keep the 255's, you'll have to have new arches custom made (£££'s) not to mention speedo re-calibration and loss of power ratio......
Is it a quattro? You may get away with 255/30's on the rear if it isn't. Loads of messing around envolved!!! Personally, i would sell them, get a set with a 35mm offset and stick with 235/35's. Wheel spacers can cause problems eg wheel bearing stress, wheel wobble etc.

Good luck!!!

cheers for your replys . youve at least saved me a lot of time mucking about. they have to go, 19s a nice pipe dream. got some photos of them on the car so i at least know what they look like on.
could you tell me what the widest wheel tyre combo i could fit without going lower than a 40 profile. i am lowering the car 30 mm on eibachs / or how wide could i go on my 7" wide 17" rims i have at the moment?

I wouldn't go any wider than the 235/40's because the tyres would start to "bulge out" beyond the rims and impair handling. 18" rims would look better with 225/40's if your going to lower it 30mm. Any wider, you will probably start to knock out your arches on cornering!

Theres nothing worse than the sound of your wheel hitting your arch when going round a sharp bend at high "G's" then hitting a bump in the road!!!

That quote was a safe bet, you may squeeze 235's on if you're feeling adventurous!

If you weren't in Staffordshire, you could come in and i would test fit them for you.

See if you can find a friendly alloy wheel shop in your area that will let you do that.

trial fitted rims:(. fronts with 10mm spacers still foul on upper of hub carrier+ track rod end at certain steering angles and stick out from wings about 20mm.
rears pretty much fit with a 5mm spacer to clear strut. perhaps with rs4 wings it may be possible to do but ......... cant be ar***.
live and learn .
think i will go for some 8" wide 17s with 245 40 17 tyres.

Speaking of 18" wheels, would the newer Audi original S4, RS4 18" wheels fit the A4 B5?
