Good afternoon,#
does anyone in the forum now how to open the bonnet of a Audi A4 avant 2001 when the catch release has been activated.
I have tried to open the bonnet but it seems to be stuck
Is there a way to access the bonnet lock:aargh4:?
Also would I have to remove the grill? if so does any one know how...:approve:
Please help if possible as I may have to take the car to an Audi trained garage

Thanks

You'll have to smash/cut the grill and access the mechanism manually for the release then diagnose whats wrong with it

there is bound to be a less destructive method.

try jacking the car up and remove the undertray and reaching up from below.

Err, i may be stating the obvious but you say you've released the catch (inside the car?) then you pull the small lever up which is in one of the audi circles? I take it you have done that and it still wont open?

I recently had the same issue on my 2002 A4. I released the bonnet so that it raised slightly but the small lever within the grill would not release it completely. I managed to prise the grill out, broke a couple of clips in the process, but I could then get my hand in to the catch. When I opened the bonnet I found that the catch had seized up.
