Hi all, I've just joined up so it's only polite to pick your brains for some info!
I recently bought a 1989 (F) Golf cabriolet with a 1.8 8v DX engine, and a k-jet CIS. The problem I've got is that it won't run for more than a second or two, just cuts out after the initial start. To try and solve the problem i've been playing with the fuel metering head. There seems to be plenty of pressure, but if I crank it over with the injector lines disconnected, after the fuel comes through a great deal of air bubbles come up with the remainder of the fuel as the pressure is dropping. Any ideas?

Gotta love k-jet! ;)

Any help'd be greatly appreciated.

Ralph

After taking the airflow sensor/fuel dizzy assembly apart i've found that the garage who replaced it had set the airflow sensor plate up totally wrong, so that rather than sitting at the bottom of the venturi, it was sagging below the cone. I've now got it running and there doesn't seem to be a problem with fuel flow.

Now it's time to get out in the sun with the roof down! ;)
