Gt Tdi 130 Bhp Please Help..

i recently bought a 130 golf,needs few thing like..see when i put it down..no turbo comes on its slower dan a straigh diesel n there is puffs of black smoke..but the car has been lying 6 months at least..i put intercooler on it with new pipes and egr vavle..it also reved round to the 6000 by itself last nyt..does the egr valve control the revving and would i need to get it set?most of all..could my vacuum pipes be on wrong or sumfing for the turbo not to pick up at all?also oil coming from the turbo pipe to the intercooler..??

any suggestions

What you experienced last night was what we call "diesel runaway" and this can literally blow an engine up. This is usually caused by oil in the intercooler being sucked up into the engine and burnt. It happened to me once and scared the crap out of me, I just managed to dump the clutch in gear and hold it on the brake to stall the engine but I thought I was going to lose the engine (and the front end, I was facing a wall at the time!).

If the turbo control vacuum lines are incorrectly routed this can cause huge problems so if you PM me your email address I will send you a routing diagram, but I will need your registration number as well.

The EGR valve only allows in exhaust gases to reduce combustion temperatures as part of the emissions reduction system and as such, does not control the engine power. This sis solely controlled by the ECU metering fuel from the injectors. The EGR valve also contains a flap which shuts off air to the engine when the ignition is turned off to prevent engine shudder on shut down.
