First post as you can see.
Im a vag nut ( all vws at the mo) but have a chance of a 2.0 16v coupe 1994.

Problem is that the fuel pump is very noisy. Could this be the sender, or fuel pump, (or anything else?) i,e lift pump?

How much for any of the above.
As i looked on ebay and fuel pumps seem to be cheap! Am i missing something?

Sorry. Lots of questions on the one thread!

Any help/ ideas appreciated.

Hi and Welcome

There is only one pump, unfortunately it is mounted in the tank on coupe's! To access it you need to remove the boot carpet and the corrugated fuel tank cover underneath. The pump is mounted in under the circular plastic cover.
To remove it, have a low fuel level, disconnect the battery, do not smoke!
I've never done it, but I understand there is a castellated type locking ring (plastic) that must be turned before it will release, the pump/ housing and sender should all then be able to be dismantled.
Is the tank sound deadening and corrugated cover in place? Without these, even a good pump sounds noisy.
