Selecting 4th gear in my quattro tdi avant

Hi there, just bought a quattro a4 tdi avant and love it... however selecting 4th gear is a little difficult?

Anyone any ideas? It's a pain to get it into the gear. Like all things once it's in it's fine. Does'nt jump out or anything.

Any advice will be as usual greatly appreciated.
