Heated Seats

Does anyone know if heated seats can be fitted to a 1996 Caddy van and how easy is it to do

You may get lucky and be able to get a kit from a dealer but only if they happen to have one in stock as they are probably discontinued. Going through what dealers have for discontinued models can get you some real bargains though.

Another option is to see if any of the VW spares traders have on on eBay - they get most of their stuff by the method above.

Otherwise, you may be able to get a wiring loom from www.kufatec.de (http://www.kufatec.de/) and the switches and elements often come up on eBay - may not be for exactly the same model but most VWs of the same age are electrically similar. Otherwise, switches and elements may be available as spares from the dealer. There's a load of info on http://uk-mkivs.net/forums/p/160721/1223844.aspx about this.

Thirdly, try and get the whole lot from a scrap Polo or Golf - but they are probably rare with this option and it would probably be a complicated dismantling job.
