Hi, i've currently got a 96 polo se with the openair roof. im having a few problems with the roof with regards to leaking etc and despite my efforts to fix the problem im now considering jst fitting a new roof system. does anyone know of where i could get one and an approximate price? ive searched ebay and rang several vw breakers but everyone seems oblivious to the openair roof sytems! id also consider a different style roof if its possible to fit one?
thanks! :)

Hi
Have just bought a Polo with Openair roof that needs repair or replacement - did you ever find a repairer or replacement supplier ?

open air models are rare, so finding one in a general breakers is unlikely. your best bet will be to buy a vw magazine or just go into a shop and read it there and copy down some details for vw specific breakers. the roofs tend to fetch around £100 if in good condition. also try some of the polo specific web forums

Hi
Thanks for prompt response to my first ever posting.
After some research I have found
Replacement hoods from carhood.com for £180 + VAT, delivery/or fitting
I'm not at that stage yet so will try
Offtech Ltd repair patch kit [type B for vinyl] £7.99
and
Renovo cleaner and proofer [sun not rain though]
Has anyone else tried any of these products ?
Also BAS hoods have told me to bring it in and they will see if they can advise/help [they don't actually make a hood for the Openair only Golfs and Beetles]
I'll try DIY first - the two splits are minute really - may not even need a patch just rubber solution perhaps.
