Polo GT syncromesh - gearbox problems

Hi Guys, i have a Polo GT (1.9 TDI 190) with only 7,500 miles on the clock. Took her into Robinsons (VW dealer) for service and mention a crunching between the lower gears. They came back to say a gearbox oil change will sort it out, but would cost around £150. I know the older models such as GTI (1.4-1.6 16V) had syncromesh problems, so any ideas if GT models have the same problems or if someone can recommend anything - that would help. By the way she is still under warranty - therefore should i take it back in and get them to look at it?

Gearbox problem is now sorted. Apparently this is a bit comon with Derv cars when starting off from cold. Thank god
