passat ticks in a morning

My passat ticks for about 5 seconds in a morning, No misfire or anything and only dose it from first thing, rest of the day it's fine. Any ideas again or is it the norm?

hi Sounds like one of the hydraulic tappets is loosing pressure overnight.Nothing to worry about as long as it goes away after 5 secs.You could try changing the oil and filter,have had good results with Castrol.

Even at 70k? I changed the oil about 2000 miles ago. It was the 501.00 stuff or something or other. Might try that castral.
Is it ok to use with my avf engine code?

Hi Sorry i was thinking (petrol) on idle.You would need to get a mechanic to listen to the ticking.

Yes I had that same issue (but with petrol) 1.8T and was diagnosed as a sloppy tappet. Only lasted for about 10 seconds when starting from cold.

I would get it looked at if possible.
