Hi to all !!

I need a new rear wiper motor for my 1998 Avant part no. 8L0-955-711A. Does anyone know if a motor from an Arosa part no. 6X0955711C will fit ok ?

If it was the same, the part number would be the same.

Quite possibly but I've seen a picture of the Arosa motor and it looks identical. My thinking was that the "8L" maybe referred to Audi/A4 and "6X " to Seat/Arosa with "A" "C" being different manuf. dates. The other numbers are identical.

The first three digits refer to the car it was first used on, so 8L is Audi A3 as it was used from 97 on the A3 and 98 on the A4 and A6. The middle number 9 (main group) is electrical and 55 (sub group) is wipers and 711 is usually a rear wiper motor and a letter (if any) is the version change.

8L0 955 711 A is now 8L0 955 711 B and these are listed by Febi and by SWF but 6X0 955 711 C isn’t. Genuine, they both cost £81.70.

Is it 100% the wiper motor. have you put a live to the plug on the motor itself.

On my old a4 it turned out to be the stalk.

Thanks for input. Def the motor. Power getting to motor ok-corroded spray pipe led to water in motor. Tried drying everything out, worked for a day, then stopped again.
