Hi there,

My rear passenger side footwell is water logged and I have been doing my research and reckon its this pollen filter issue where the seal has gone or its all clogged up.

I went and bought the Hayes manual today to see if it shows you how to take everything off that I need and it kinda does and doesn't. I also bought a new pollen filter as I figured I might as well change it too.

Can anyone give me a step by step guide to how I should take off the bits I need to check and repair the pollen filter housing. Also noticed a lot of water around the battery area.

My car is a 1998 20V 1.8 Passat.

Thanks

The above link is fantastic. I have no pictures but just gone through all of this.
Just below the pollen filter about 3/4" down you will feel (inside) a lip. This is the seal where mine leaked. I gunked it with panel sealer but silicone sealant should also work fine.
