Oil Level and yellow oil light

Hi there, was wondering if anyone would be able to help me, i have a golf v5 (150ps) and the yellow oil light has come on with the message "CHECK OIL". the oil was really low but topped it up but the oil light is still on but the dip stick shows the oil being full.

i know its not the sensor as the manual states that the yellow light would flash with the message "OIL SENSOR fault", in my case its not flashing.

anyone know what the problem would be??:biglaugh:
