Can I disable the alarm/siren

Help required. I have a beeping problem which will be resolved when I replace the siren, thanks to a past thread. Unfortunately, the siren will not be with me for several days and I still need to use and lock the car. Is there any way I can lock the car but not have the alarm activated? Can I disable the alarm?

can't you just lock it with the key ?

If only! When I use the key it activates the alarm as well as locking the door. I am trying to find out if I can deactivate the alarm so that I can use the key.

read some where that if you pop the fuse it makes the hazzards flash when locked
can you unplug the alarm unit or is the immobizer part of the same unit ?
vagcom can disable the alarm i think maybe audi will do it free as its their delivery time thats caused the problem

Rob, thanks for the advice. I will try and unplug the siren to see what happens. Last ditch solution will be to go to Audi.

After finally getting to the siren, I have now removed it completely and can lock the car using the normal system. Only partial alarm functionality, but happy neighbours!
