View Full Version : Dashboard Thermometer Fault
Hi, since I bought my Golf GTi Mk4 the "ambient temperature" gauge that is displayed on the dashboard computer hasn't worked. it just has a blank reading of something like "_ _._ _ 0C".
anyone have any ideas?
thanks.

Was there any response or solution to this problem? Mine has just started doing the very same thing after having a flat battery.
Cheers

Possibly a fault at the sensor, it is behind the lower bumper grill on the left of the car.

Hi
My temperature on the dash constantly reads around 9.5 to 10.5, fluxuates between this althoug i know the outside temperature is different
Does the sensor need replacing? any ideas how much it is and how easy it is to fit?
Thanks

The part number is 1J0 919 379 A but I can’t tell you a price from home. The sensor is easy to fit, as I said it is behind the left lower bumper grill.

thanks fo the help. Are there other suggestions? the only reason i ask is that the temperature on the climbatronic still gives out the correct reading. Does this have a seperate sensor

No, they both use the same sensor which suggests a dash fault.

Cheers crasher, it's going in for a service soon, so i'm sure they'll diagnose a fault ....with a truly reasonable price to fix!!!
