Water Leak - Drivers side

Hello All,

I have just purchased a Golf mk4 1.8 GTI Turbo. As you all know we have had some nasty rain in the last few days.

This morning I went to get in to my car to find a pool of water in the drivers footwell.
As far as I can see its coming from the A piller but no higher than where the top of the windscreen. The A Piller is soaking up the rain lovely and its collection in the footwell.

Does this sound like a possible Windscreen seal gone? I do have a sunroof, but looking at that there is no damp anywhere near it, so from that I'm thinking its not that causing the leak.

Any ideas would be great, many thanks in advance

there are two places water can get in on vag 1 is it leaks pass the window reg and through the eletric box above the pedals hope this helps

Can't do anything in this lovely weather.
Someone said it could be the sunroof, but no damp around the sunroof.
