i have a complete mk 2 1.8 8v on my drive and was planning to put the engine in to mine to replace the 1.6 that is already in it. i have never done anything like this before what is it like to do with the wireing harnes and the fuel tank and pump etc

What's the 8V 1.8 Golf? injection or carb motor?

BIG difference in installing the wiring!

You're going to need the lift pump out of the tank, the under-floor pressure tank from in front of the rear wheel, the wiring to both of these with the pump relay and also the engine loom out of the bay. Don't go throwing anything away from the donor until your car runs!
