Vw golf 1.9 TDI 04 - eggy smell

Hi there.

The last couple of days i've noticed a bit of an eggy smell coming in to my car. normally when the vent is blowing the windscreen. a passenger suggested it may be the cat converter failing.

any advice?

do you have air conditioning/climate control ? Sometimes fungus grow on the condenser and hence the weird smells. Some people get one of these cans of A/C cleaners and set them inside the car with the engine+A/C running on full blast and windows closed for about 15 min or so. Its wise to turn the A/C off few min before switching engine off to let it dry. What is the mileage on your car as could be the catalyst as well !

the milage is only 28K

it's due a service in about 2K so i think they should replace all the filters then, perhaps that will sort the problem out
