Squeaky clutch pedal

Hello one and all. This will be my first post on this forum but not my first visit, now to business.

I currently drive mk3 golf 1.6cl 93 engine code ABU. A most annoying problem with the car is the squeaky clutch pedal, i have replaced the cable but the problem persists. If the car is left to rest overnight the pedal travel is quiet and easy the creak or squeak only seems to appear after driving for ten minutes or so. Any advice would be greatly appreciated including 'How To' remove the pedal from the pivot.

try aiming some WD40 at the pivot, see if that helps.

Tried and failed, has a tempoary effect but not long term. How easy and how do you remove the pedal from the pivot?

Loosen and grease then.
