Speedo not working!

Hi all,

I have just bought a 1998 caddy 1.9d, whilst driving it home i found that the speedo does not actualy work! all the other guages work. Can any1 sugest things i should try? this is the first caddy i have had and im not to sure where to start.

i see that moysie has posted a similar thread about his inca, however mine does not have a tacho.
